Mauritius Commercial Bank (MCB) and ETG have completed Africa's first electronic Bill of Exchange (eBoE) executed under Mauritian law, using Enigio's trace:original technology.
The transaction marks the first practical use of Mauritius' MLETR-based legal framework for electronic Bills of Exchange and demonstrates how legal reform can be translated into real-world trade finance. The transaction highlights how legal certainty, trusted digital-original technology and industry collaboration can help accelerate digital trade adoption across Africa and beyond.
