Mercore and Enigio jointly announce their collaboration to accelerate the accessibility of executing trade finance digitally, via a turnkey service offering for Financial Institutions and their clients.
London, 28th August 2025. Mercore, the award-winning digital trade financier, has expanded its collaboration with Enigio, the leading provider of secure, MLETR-compliant Electronic Trade Documents (ETDs). The collaboration combines Mercore’s practical and proven execution capability and banking know-how with Enigio’s open technology secure platform to deliver fully digital, secure, legally enforceable trade documents to banks and corporates worldwide.
Mercore has already executed and financed a series of landmark transactions using Enigio’s trace:original technology, demonstrating that digital negotiable instruments are practical, enforceable and deliver immediate benefits to all parties. Benefits include cutting “time to money” from days – or indeed weeks -to same-day financing, providing banks and corporates with speed, operational efficiency and security.
Through the expanded partnership, Financial Institutions can benefit from:
• A wrap around End-to-End service provision for Institutions (and if wished their downstream clients) including on site demonstrations and walkthroughs of the digital journey
• DNI / MLETR – compliant document suite – legally recognised and enforceable in multiple jurisdictions, with independent local legal opinions for legal assurance.
• KYC/AML capabilities – streamlined and easy – provided as an optional bolt-on service.
• Faster access to finance – enabling corporates to access liquidity more quickly (and increasing tenor lengths for institutions). • Frictionless adoption – no IT integration required – Mercore can execute transactions for Institutions on Enigio’s platform on a minimal cost pay per play transactional basis – specifically in support of pilot trades / proof of concept requirements
• Tailored solutions – Mercore and Enigio’s combined capabilities can accommodate bespoke business needs.
“Mercore’s transactions to date have demonstrated that by executing digitally, more finance can be injected into the trade ecosystem by (1) financing trade flows previously thought too short to be financed; and (2) meeting the growing demand from customers to get paid quicker; thus simultaneously contributing to closing the global trade finance gap” said Anthony Wadsworth Hill, Deputy CEO and Co-Founder of Mercore. “The successful transactions we have already carried out prove that digital trade is here and it’s scaleable – we’re now here to help do just that across the industry.”
Patrik Zekkar, CEO at Enigio, commented: “This collaboration delivering an accessible turnkey service offering to the market is an instrumental step forward, by providing a fast, simpler and safe adoption to digital trade. It removes barriers to accelerate adoption by enabling the creation and management of digital documents that are efficient, secure and legally robust. The live transactions already completed are building market confidence and 2 have enabled corporates and SMEs to reap tangible, immediate benefits of faster execution and reduced risk”.
Mercore`s concierge service underpinned by Enigio’s technology will be officially showcased at ITFA Singapore 2025 (3-4 September), where Mercore and Enigio will demonstrate how their combined strengths are shaping the future of trade finance.
