Forfaiting is a trade finance method where an exporter sells its receivables (future payments due from a buyer) to a forfaiter at a discount. This provides the exporter with immediate cash flow. The forfaiter assumes the risk of non-payment, providing the exporter with cash while eliminating collection and currency risks.
