Enigio salutes the commitment from nine major ocean carriers within DCSA to convert 100% of original bills of lading to electronic bills of lading by 2030 and by 50% within 5 years.
The commitment will have a huge industry impact as the nine carriers ship 72% of all the containerised goods in the world transported by sea. The originators of electronic bills of lading have the key to create the much-needed change. Enigio is currently working with freight forwarders and exporters, and we are an enabler to make the entire document trade chain digitised.
Enigio’s trace:original is able to digitise any trade document, including negotiable instruments like bills of lading. It is designed to comply with current legislation and is fully aligned with UNCITRAL’s Model Law on Electronic Transferable Records (MLETR) and it provides a fully digital workflow that is faster, safer more cost-efficient and sustainable than paper.
trace:original bills of lading can be sent, received, and managed by everyone in the trade process, from large exporters to freight forwarders and local agents in emerging markets. It is only the one creating a digital original document that needs to be a customer of Enigio.
